Response plan for workers & food supply
The Alberta and federal governments, with the input and assistance of industry and worker representatives, have developed a plan to respond to confirmed cases of COVID-19 in food processing plants. The goal is to protect workers, while ensuring essential food supply is maintained.
Increased mental health supports
Premier Kenney yesterday announced an additional $53 million in funding for mental health supports and addictions recovery. The Government of Alberta had previously committed $140 million to support mental health and addiction programs.
Personal protective equipment reaches Albertans
Alberta Health Services (AHS) continues to try to get personal protective equipment to Alberta’s health-care workers. The Provincial Operations Centre is contacting non-AHS facilities to get equipment delivered. AHS, Covenant Health and other health care organizations have received more than four million masks so far. Almost 1,000 long-term care facilities, designated supportive living facilities, addictions and mental health facilities and home care providers have received more than one-and-a-half million masks.
